This support group connects foster parents from all backgrounds, providing a platform for sharing experiences, seeking advice, and learning from each other in a supportive environment.
Topics can include:
Talking about the hard emotions that come with taking care of children who have had difficult pasts.
Learning how to work with the laws and rules of foster care.
Navigating the complicated relationship/role of biological parents when fostering kids.
Discussing how to handle tough behaviors from kids who are hurting.
Preparing for the time when foster kids might leave to return to their families or go to new homes.
Learning ways to make foster kids feel safe and trusted.
Figuring out how to handle the costs of caring for foster kids.
Adjusting your daily life to meet the needs of foster children.

We create a safe non-judgmental space for parents to express themselves. Every week, parents and caregivers join our Zoom call to provide each other support and encouragement. You’ll receive the Zoom meeting link once you register.

Trained volunteers will facilitate this group. Parents can join at any time and are welcome to attend as many groups as they want. Usually there are between 6 and 16 parents in a group meeting.

Our groups are free, confidential, and open to any caregiver. Our goal is to create a safe space where group members share experiences about parenting, learn to cope with things they cannot change and figure out how to change the things they can.
