Parenting Teens with Special Needs
Parents helping parents raise special kids.
This support group is open to anyone parenting a pre-teen, tween or teenager who identifies as special needs. Moms and dads join together to share experiences and strategies for parenting kids hitting puberty and beyond. No topic is off limits.
Topics can include:
Managing out of control, high-risk and challenging behaviors in teenagers
Supporting teens with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety or Depression
Creating safe and realistic boundaries with teenagers
Discipline and consequences during the teen years
Adolescent Development

We create a safe non-judgmental space for parents to express themselves. Every week, parents and caregivers join our Zoom call to provide each other support and encouragement. You’ll receive the Zoom meeting link once you register.

Trained volunteers will facilitate this group. Parents can join at any time and are welcome to attend as many groups as they want. Usually there are between 6 and 16 parents in a group meeting.

Our groups are free, confidential, and open to any caregiver. Our goal is to create a safe space where group members share experiences about parenting, learn to cope with things they cannot change and figure out how to change the things they can.
