Need Support as a Mom? Here’s Where to Find It — For Free
Motherhood can be a beautiful experience but can also be lonely, exhausting, and full of invisible pressures. On the outside, you might look like you’re managing just fine. But on the inside? You might be quietly struggling.
The truth is, many moms feel overwhelmed and search for help but don’t know where to start, especially if paid therapy or programs are out of reach (and out of budget). The good news? Support does exist, and it’s free.
At Parents Helping Parents (PHP), we believe every mom deserves a safe, judgment-free space to be heard and supported. Our mission is to offer free, confidential, and compassionate help through support groups, a 24/7 helpline, and peer connections. Whether you're raising a newborn, navigating toddler tantrums, parenting through school years, going through postpartum changes, or just trying to make it through the day, you don’t have to do it alone.
Why So Many Moms Are Struggling Right Now
The expectations placed on moms today are sky-high — coming from social media, society, your job, family expectations, and even our own inner critics. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or balancing a job and kids, chances are you’ve felt the mental, emotional, and physical toll.
One of the most common (and often undiagnosed) challenges new mothers face is postpartum depression. According to research, approximately 1 in 7 women experience postpartum depression following childbirth. Alarmingly, around 50% of these cases go undiagnosed, meaning many moms never receive the support or treatment they need.
And it’s not just postpartum. A 2024 Journal of Pediatric Health Care study found that 65% of working parents report burnout. That burnout is strongly linked to increased rates of anxiety and depression, both in parents and their children.
This kind of stress isn’t rare. It’s real. And for many moms, the biggest barriers to getting help include time, stigma, cost, and simply not knowing where to turn.
That’s why free, accessible support matters so much. Not just for crisis moments but for everyday survival.

Why Support Groups Make a Difference
Sometimes, all it takes is hearing another mom say, “Me too.”
Support groups are a place where you don’t have to explain your stress or pretend you’re fine. It’s a chance to speak honestly about what you’re feeling — without pressure, without advice, and without shame. Whether you show up just to listen or to talk through your week, it’s a space where you're understood.
When moms gather, even virtually, something shifts. You’re reminded that you're not the only one feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure. And from that shared experience, real comfort, connection, and understanding can grow.
